Prepare QR codes for print

Printing QR codes without a professional printing service can feel overwhelming, but we’ve got you covered! Prepare your digital QR codes for print in just a few simple steps.

RGB Versus CMYK

The range of colors between digital and print differ slightly because they use different color models. RGB combines Red, Green, and Blue to display color on screens, while CMYK blends Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Key (black) for print. While RGB and CMYK have similar color ranges, RGB colors can appear dull when printed.

Liiingo is a digital platform that uses RGB by default, so all Liiingo QR codes should be converted to CMYK before printing. This will ensure the colors–even black and white–are accurate when printed.

Preparing for Print

Once you customize your QR code, you’re ready to prepare for print. Take your QR codes from digital to physical using design platforms such as Canva or Adobe. Keep in mind that using these platforms often require a subscription.

To produce printable QR codes, we recommend downloading a PDF with CMYK values. This can be done by using the following steps:

  1. Select your chosen design platform (Canva, Adobe, etc.).
  2. Download your QR code from the Liiingo Portal.
  3. Import your QR code file as an SVG to your chosen design platform.
  4. Export the QR code as a CMYK Print PDF.
  5. Create test prints to ensure quality and fidelity.
  6. Modify the colors and styling as desired.
  7. Repeat steps 4–6 as needed.

Pro Tip: Upload your logo as an SVG to ensure your QR codes are printable at any scale.
